Exciting Volunteer Opportunities: Salmonberry Trail Clearing Events

I trust this message finds you well and eager to engage in more trail stewardship. I'm pleased to announce that we have scheduled three Salmonberry Trail clearing events for the coming week.

We have a delightful, lightly wooded stretch of track, approximately one mile in length between the Williams Creek trestle and Hwy 47, that needs our attention. We will be focusing on removing mostly 1-2 inch fir saplings using hand tools (loppers and pruning saws - no power tools, please). The good news is, there are very few blackberry vines to contend with.

Here are the details:

GPS coordinates are:
45°41'18.5"N 123°11'45.1"W
45.688483, -123.195870

Please note that due to limited parking at the worksite (one mile north), we will gather at the Fisher Road location at 8 AM and carpool to the site. We aim to work until approximately noon, after which we will walk out. There is minimal walking required from the parking area to the worksite.

We do have a limited number of pruning saws available for use, but if you have a good pair of loppers, they will prove handy for this job.

In an effort to maintain a manageable and safe working environment, we are limiting the group size to ten for each event. Please respond to this email to confirm your availability and to secure a spot in one or more of the clearing events.
