Tillamook Forest Heritage Trust

The non-profit Tillamook Forest Heritage Trust, formed in 1999, serves as catalyst for public / private partnership in support of the Oregon Department of Forestry.  The Trust’s initial mission was raising funds and fostering partnerships for the construction of the Tillamook Forest Center, and the development of tools and experiences that help Oregonians better understand and appreciate The Tillamook State Forest and all of Oregon’s State-owned forests. This effort culminated in the Center opening in April of 2006.  The Tillamook Forest Center currently hosts over 45,000 visitors annually and provides outdoor education opportunities to 5000-6000 students from Washington and Tillamook County schools.
