THE HOQUARTON TRAIL OPENING EVENT

THE HOQUARTON TRAIL OPENING EVENT

The Tillamook Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a great event at the beginning of the month to celebrate The Hoquarton Trail, Salmonberry’s first official mile! It was a beautiful day that brought over 250 people. The community came out to walk the trail, enjoy the beautiful day, and learn from variety of local organizations to about recreation options, the flora, and fauna of the area, the history of the trail and the waterfront, as well as the connection between trails and value of place. Mayor Suzanne Weber spoke at the trailhead, welcoming folks to the parks and the path, and listed the vast number of partners that participated in bringing it all to fruition. Many folks who attended the event were first timers on the trail and talked excitedly about what the future might bring.
